- How do I download issues of Perspectives?
Scroll to the Documents section and click on the link for the issue you wish to download.
- Why can't I view the magazine files in the Documents section?
You must have Adobe Acrobat reader (version 4.0 or higher) to view the files. If you need a copy, go HERE or click on the Adobe link at the bottom of the page.
- How do I submit an article for publication?
Clinical articles, letters to the editor and other submissions for publication should be submitted - preferably electronically as MS Word documents - to the Managing Editor, Theresa Barrett, MS, CMP at tjb@njafp.org.
The Editors reserve the right to accept or reject any article or advertising material and cannot be responsible for items submitted such as pictures, etc.
Family Physician
- What is a "Family Physician?"
Family Physicians are Board Ceritified, Residency Trained Specialists in Family Medicine, the medical specialty which provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and the family. It is the specialty in breadth which integrates the biological, clinical and behavioral sciences. The scope of family practice encompasses all ages, both sexes, each organ system and every disease entity. Simply, Family Physicians are specialists in YOU...and your whole family.

Positions Available
- Who can post an available position?
Any member of the NJAFP in good standing can post an available position. Postings are currently free to NJAFP members. Non-members may have positions posted as well, but must contact the NJAFP office for posting and pricing details.
- How do I post a position?
On the Positions Available page, click on "POST A POSITION" at the top of the page, fill in the appropriate fields on the form and click the "save" button at the bottom. You must be logged in as a member to use this function. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO INCLUDE CONTACT INFO IN THE TEXT OF YOUR POSTING.
- How long do postings last?
Postings will automatically be deleted in 30 days. If you wish to extend a posting beyond 30 days or cancel a posting prior to the end date, please contact office@njafp.org
- I am trying to post a position but can't make the link work. What should I do?
If you are a member of the NJAFP in good standing, you are able to post a position, but you must be logged in as a member. Click on the "Members Only" link and login using your AAFP ID # and your last name. Once logged in, click on the Practice Opportunities page in the left side menu bar and try the link again. If you continue to have trouble, please contact the NJAFP Office (office@njafp.org).
- Can I be notified when positions are posted?
Yes, if you are a member in good standing of the NJAFP. Simply log in to the members only site, and then navigate back to the Positions Available site. If you are logged in, you will see a "Welcome" message, followed by a link to subscribe. If you click on that subscribe link, you will be notified when positions are modified or changed.

YES! Members who have logged in to NJAFP.ORG will see a link to "SUBSCRIBE" at the top of certain pages, including the Positions Sought page. Clicking on this link will allow you to be notified each time a new posting is made to the site provided we have your email address on file. If you have difficulty subscribing, or if we do not have your email address, feel free to contact the NJAFP OFFICE.
