The goal of this educational program is to provide family physicians and other health care providers with the knowledge and skills they need to confidently assess and effectively address the sexual health concerns of their women patients.
Educational Objectives
- Recognize the legitimacy of female sexual dysfunctions
- Routinely obtain a sexual history
- Exhibit comfort and confidence in initiating a dialogue about sexual health
- Differentiate between HSDD and other types of female sexual dysfunction
- Incorporate questions likely to improve accurate diagnosis of HSDD
- Use available guidelines to diagnose and manage patients with HSDD
- Identify local referral and Web-based educational resources
- Refer women to a sexual health specialist when necessary
